Derek K. Miller's Last Post

I was reading Aaron Mahnke's blog on Sunday Night and I found a link to a different blog that I haven't been able to get out of my mind ever since. I still haven't quite processed why I think it's so important to share this, but I'm going to anyway.

The blog is called Penmachine, and in it, Derek K. Miller has posted a blog entry from his grave. Here's the blog:

I don't know Derek, but his post touched me more deeply than anything I've read in awhile. I had tears in my eyes while reading it, and when I finished, I immediately went and hugged my half-asleep son and told him how much I loved him.

That's the power of words that are well-written, that come from the heart, and that are true to the writer's soul. I guess maybe THAT'S why I'm writing this. Because I think everyone should read what Derek wrote. Look at it this way: If reading my post causes you to read Derek's post, and if his post inspires you to tell your significant other that you love him or her, or motivates you to hug your son or daughter, or causes you to enjoy every second of life just a little bit more, then I'm glad I wrote this.
